My Favorite Compiz Settings

Mouse wheel desktop zoom
Zoom the desktop by holding super (windows) and spin the mouse wheel.
Accessibility -> Enhanced Zoom Desktop:
  • Zoom In/Out -> Zoom In = <Super> Button4
  • Zoom In/Out -> Zoom Out = <Super> Button5
  • Zoom In/Out -> Zoom Box = <Super> Button2

Window Picker
Pick Windows by showing them all, like Exposee in MacOS. The spacing between windows was to big for my taste.
  • Window Management -> Scale -> Appearance -> Spacing = 12
  • Window Management -> Scale -> Bindings -> Initiate Window Picker = BottomLeft

Translucent Windows When Moving
I love to see what's behind a window when I move it.
  • Window Management -> Move Window -> General -> Opacity = 88

Magnetic Window Edges
I like to be supported when I want to align windows next to each other. Holding Shift disables it.
  • Window Management -> Snapping Windows -> Behaviour = checked

Translucent Menus
  • Accessibility -> Opacity -> Opacity -> add Window specific setting with value to 90:
    Tooltip | Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu
